084 Sandeep Kapur

On today’s episode, I am excited to share a conversation with a clinical pharmacist with one powerful goal in mind: to make a proactive change for the mental wellbeing of the younger generation.

Sandeep Kapur a clinical pharmacist currently working for an organisation called Health & Beyond. As a pharmacist, Sandeep works across several GP practices providing support to patients through structured medication reviews and has special interest in Mental Health. She also has experience in a hospital outpatient pharmacy and several years of working as a community pharmacist. She is a highly motivated professional and her transition through a variety of roles within pharmacy practice has allowed her to gain a range of skills and develop her knowledge at a fast pace.

We discuss her career in detail at the beginning of the podcast episode, but as we dive deep into our conversation, she shares her story behind living with anxiety and the coping mechanisms she uses to manage this condition. This experience, as well as working in GP practices for over 14 years and seeing the rise in mental health disorders, encouraged her to think outside the box. She felt so passionate about making a change for the younger generation that she created a mindfulness diary for children. She believes the diary will change the way in which we speak to our children and the way in which we encourage our children to understand and speak about their emotions. Sandeep encourages parents to complete elements of the diary as a family. She is confident that parents will benefit from this reflective process and demonstrate to children that everyone has emotional ups and downs in life.

I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation with Sandeep. I am truly inspired by her passion and drive to utilise her creativity to help others believe that growth is a lifelong journey and that mindset and mindulness can improve your life forever.
